Enter and Back Buttons Sometimes Doesn’t Work on Dell Laptop Keyboard

It frequently happened to me that some buttons stop functioning on Dell laptop such as Enter and Back button. The reason that this happened to me was pretty simple, my laptop gets hot fast. Some buttons stop working at high temperature and I’m not sure about the technical facts behind it.

Whenever this happens to me, I turn off my laptop and leave it for some time to cool down. And then the whole buttons on the keyboard start working again!

Please make sure to prevent your laptop from getting hot. It might burn your memory or CPU.

Is your dell laptop not charging?

My Dell laptop battery stopped charging at some point. I share my experience, how I ended up fixing!

When my Windows is started, the battery is displayed with a plug so power connection works. However, when I click the battery, it says, “Not charging”. I got a screenshot as below.

Dell Laptop - Battery Not Charging

The reason my battery wasn’t charging was due to faulty AC power adapter. The solution was easy but might be a little pricey if your laptop is not under warrantee! I replaced my AC adapter and now battery is charging as it used to be. My laptop was still under warrantee so I contacted the warrantee center and they mailed me a new AC adapter.

How to check whether your AC adapter is in a good condition?

When I turned on my computer, I got, “Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. the battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.” I used to press F1 and my Windows started normally; however, the battery wasn’t charging.

In addition, when I restarted my laptop, I check BIOS setting. Under battery information in BIOS settings, the AC Adapter is set to unknown. As it says, the adapter has some problems and is not recognizable by the laptop.

If you are getting similar errors, probably the quickest fix is replacing your adapter. However, please keep in mind you might get this error due to other reasons like faulty power jack. I’m not sure how to check the condition of power jack. If you have some ideas of checking power jack, please feel free to share them in the comment section.

Please let me know in the comment section if replacing your AC adapter solved the issue.

Are you getting blue screen often on your Dell laptop?

In this blog, I share my experience in fixing the frequent blue screen on my Dell laptop. This solution might also work for other laptops, as well.

I have a dell laptop (E6410) and got blue screen often. Sometimes a few mins after turning up my computer, I was getting a blue screen error. Initially, I thought the blue screen could be because of some problems on my Windows. I backed up all my laptop files and decided to install a fresh copy of Windows. During Windows installation, I even kept getting blue screen and the installation left unfinished.

Finally, I could install new Windows successfully, and I reset the BIOS settings. However, blue screen was still present. Long frustration with installing a new Windows, and now big disappointment for not being able to fix the issue. I thought the error might be due to faulty SSD.

Then I decided to run Diagnostic and boom! I got multiple errors! The reason I got these errors was due to a faulty Memory. Dell has explained how to run Diagnostics in here. When you run it, a series of tests occurs. Full memory test happens at the end in which I got some errors. It was saying, “Memory – integrity test failed” as image below.

If you are keep getting blue screens, then your memory might not be in a good condition and probably need to be replaced. Try to check your RAM if it’s in a good condition by running diagnostics.

Also, you can run Diagnostics online. I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure, if it works similar way to the other Diagnostics. Please feel free to share your stories if you got into a similar problem and if this solution worked for you. Or if you tried Online Diagnostics and you’re getting similar errors there.
